Biography:
Kevin Crawford is a working writer and Adjunct Professor of screenwriting and film in the CTV Department at Regent University’s School of Communication & the Arts. He bounces between L.A. and his home in Virginia Beach, where he is Managing Director of K&T Literary. Kevin came to screenwriting from “a previous life” working as a pastor/teacher, and has been writing since the 3rd grade.
Kevin says, “I knew all along I was a writer, I just had to figure out how to eat while doing this!” His published works range in scope from professional and trade periodicals to newspaper and scholarly journals. He is currently wrapping up work on his first novel. He has written and spoken on issues of pop culture, film and spirituality, and is a member of (ICA) International Communication Association and (NCA) National Communication Association.
But Kevin’s real love is screenwriting. He is a longstanding member of the American Screenwriter’s Association and Associate Member of the Writer’s Guild of America. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, master’s degree in theology, the M.F.A. in creative writing, and is in the Candidacy Phase of his Ph.D. in Communication with concentration in media studies. Kevin is also an ordained minister who believes the most sacred task in every age falls to the writer, and he is deeply committed to nurturing writers in their craft.
As Kevin notes, “Postmoderns are increasingly turning to movies for their inspiration, not to organized religion.”
Kevin’s motto:
“Whoever tells the story, defines culture!”
